Metal is my mantra...the torch my tantalizer

I have always loved working with my hands. I learned to sew watching both my grandmothers pedal out stitches on their Singers. My first creations were Barbie clothes, so you know I've been at this quite a while. Over the years I have been infatuated by fiber arts, needlework, painting, pottery, sculpting, stained glass ...you name it, I've tried it. My current seduction is metal. I love to cut it, forge it, torch it, bend it, twist it, add enamel or patina to it. I love to make each piece a picture of life, often incorporating found objects and mementos of people or places I have been. Metal is a wonderful medium for this.
I have lived in and around Houston, Texas, pretty much all my life. When I was a kid one of my favorite things to do was climb trees. Now I live in The Woodlands in a treehouse of sorts. It's an upside down house, with the living area, kitchen and master bedroom upstairs. Every window in my house produces stunning views of tall pines. It's a great place to create jewelry and hang out with my husband and my little English bull terrier rescue, Stella.
Thank you for visiting my site. Please feel free to hang out a while.
